Eden Prairie Relay Team Takes State Championship
Ayub Kassim, Mitch Stenoien, Henry Zurn and Cal Lawton won the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 7:47.61
Eden Prairie’s 4x800 meter relay team helped the boys track and field team tie for fourth place overall at the Class AA state championships Friday and Saturday at Hamline University.
Senior Ayub Kassim, senior Mitch Stenoien, senior Henry Zurn and junior Cal Lawton ran a time of 7:47.61—edging out second place Bemidji by just over three-tenths of a second.
Other strong performances included senior Tony Yost, who placed third in shot put with a throw of 54-feet-11-inches.
In all, the Eagles boys finished with 30 points.
