5 New Stores, 2 Eateries Opening at Eden Prairie Center

Prairie Tap House, rue21, Earthbound Trading Company, Christopher & Banks/ CJ Banks, DSW, Hair Pop and Sub Zero Yogurt and Ice Cream will see openings between June 2013 and 2014.

Eden Prairie Center on Friday announced five stores and two eateries that are opening at the mall between June 2013 and 2014.

The new additions will add 42,693 square feet of space to its retail line-up. The five stores coming are:

  • rue21: This clothing store “for girls and guys” will open a 6,567- square- foot store in late August on the upper level of the Kohl’s wing.  
  • Earthbound Trading Co.: This store offers an “eclectic assortment of home décor and apparel at great prices in an environment that creates a sense of adventure and variety for their customers.” It will open in October on the upper level in center court.
  • Christopher & Banks/CJ Banks: The women’s clothing store will open a new location October 2013 across the hall from its two current locations in the lower level of the jcpenney wing.
  • DSW: The shoe warehouse will open 8,800-square-foot store will open on the lower level of the jcpenney wing.
  • Hair Pop: The hair fashion store—which sells hair extensions, wigs, hair accessories and hair care products—opened in early June on the lower level of the jcpenney wing.

  • Sub Zero Yogurt & Ice Cream: Sub Zero makes its name by blasting their ice cream with -321 degrees of liquid nitrogen to freeze it instantly, which the company says makes the ice cream smoother and creamier. It opened in June near Doc Popcorn in center court.
  • Prairie Tap House: Restaurateur Gene Suh, the man behind Minneapolis' Lyndale Tap House and Apple Valley’s Valley Tap House, is opening the Prairie Tap House in September in a 7,996- square- foot space near Wildfire and Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano. It will have at least 40 different beers on tap, pit barbeque and “chef-driven comfort food.”
