Eden Prairie Historical Society Brings Back Calico Ball
The 125-year-old tradition is set for Sunday, Sept. 22, according to reports.
The Eden Prairie Historical Society Board is gearing up for its 125-year tradition on Sunday, Sept. 22: the Calico Ball.
According to the Sun Current, the members-only party theme in 2013 is "Barn meets Bling," with the party featuring barn dancing to "Light of the Moon." Guests will enjoy soft drinks, a light dinner, and their first glass of beer or wine for free, the paper reported.
In addition, eight silent auction baskets have recently been revealed, according to Eden Prairie News:
"Eight baskets were created by former Historical Society board member Kelley Regan, an Eden Prairie Realtor. The silent auction will also include donations from local businesses."
The event from 4-7 p.m. Sept. 22 is at the Green Acres Event Center (previously known as the Goodrich-Ramus barn) at 14150 Pioneer Trail in Eden Prairie. Parking for all guests will be at Grace Church, 9301 Eden Prairie Road, and a shuttle will bring guests to the barn, according to the Sun Current.
Those interested in attending the ball can still become a member before the event. The cost to become a member is $20 per household. To become a member, contact membership chairman Chris Honaas-Wildfang at 952-974-4377. Go to edenprairiehistory.org for information.
