Filing For Eden Prairie School Board Begins July 30

At this fall's election, three members will be elected to the school board for four-year terms.

The filing period for the November 2013 School Board election is July 30 through Aug. 13. At this fall’s election, three members will be elected to the school board for four-year terms. A candidate for the school board must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be at least 21-years-old at the time the term of office begins
  • Have resided in the school district for 30 days prior to the election
  • Be an eligible voter, which includes the requirement that the individual be a citizen of the United States
Affidavits of candidacy are available from the district’s Administrative Services Center at 8100 School Road, Eden Prairie. The filing fee for this office is $2. A candidate for school board must not have any other affidavit on file for any other elected office during the same general election.

District Shares Recent Survey Results

Eden Prairie Schools conducted a telephone survey of community residents and parents to solicit perceptions and opinions about various issues related to the district including the possibility of conducting a referendum election in November 2013.

The survey included a random sample of 400 district residents and a random sample of 250 parents with children currently enrolled in district schools. The use of a random sample allows the survey results to be projectable to the entire district.
