An Eden Prairie homeowner caught a burglar in the act over the holidays, according to police records.
A 43-year-old woman and 48-year-old man were at their home on the 13000 block of Beehive Court at 2:05 p.m. Dec. 28 when one of them heard a rustling in the garage.
The homeowner opened the garage door and said, “Hello,” then noticed someone standing on the other side of a vehicle.
A black two-door vehicle at the end of the driveway peeled out and fled the scene, while the unknown person ran away on foot. Neither was caught.
The victims determined that they had left the garage open. The burglar had gone through the vehicle in the garage and stolen an Oakley sunglasses case and a wallet with a $20 bill and a fishing license.
