Cleaning Company Employee Charged with Theft from EP Home

Police say Phuoc Phan Nguyen stole an expensive diamond bracelet while he was cleaning carpets in an Eden Prairie home in June.

A Brooklyn Park man already facing felony theft charges elsewhere in the Twin Cities has been charged with stealing a diamond bracelet from the Eden Prairie home of a customer while he was working for a cleaning company.

Phuoc Phan Nguyen, 24, is charged with felony theft, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The Eden Prairie victim, who lives in the 8600 block of Windward Circle, told police that he hired Chem Dry to clean the carpets in his home on June 13, according to the criminal complaint, signed by Eden Prairie Police Detective Kyle Duchschere.

The victim told officers that a diamond bracelet that belonged to his girlfriend, valued at more than $1,000, was missing after Nguyen was in his home.

The missing bracelet was pawned June 22 at a St. Louis Park pawn shop, along with a variety of other apparently stolen jewelry, according to the complaint.

Nguyen is also facing felony theft charges in Ramsey and Washington counties. He has hearings scheduled Dec. 12 in Ramsey County District Court and Jan. 17 in Washington County District Court on those charges; no information was available on his upcoming court appearances in Hennepin County.
