Whoops! Pilot Has 'In-Flight Emergency' On The Ground

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating an incident last week at Flying Cloud Airport.

A plane got loose on the Flying Cloud Airport runway Dec. 6 after it initially failed to start.

The pilot and a passenger were in the plane at about 7:26 a.m. The pilot got out of the plane when it wouldn’t start and tried to start the engine manually.

As that was happening, the plane started and began rolling forward. It traveled several yards and hit a few things before stopping in a ditch.
