Supervalu Asks for Emergency Order Against Former Exec
Supervalu's attorneys sought an emergency court order Thursday, barring its defected executive Leon Bergmann from working for his new employer.
According to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal, Bergmann resigned as president of the company's independent business division in October. He then took a similar position with West Coast-competitor Unified Grocers Inc., prompting Supervalu to sue him for allegedly breaking non-compete and confidentiality agreements.

Chief U.S. District Judge Michael Davis is considering the request, but in the meantime ordered both sides to discuss settling the dispute, according to the business journal.

Optum & SAS Align to Help Prevent Health Care Fraud, Waste and Abuse
Eden-Prairie based Optum is working with SAS to further enhance its comprehensive health care anti-fraud, waste and abuse services.
According to an Optum press release on HeraldOnline.com, the new measure combines detection, investigation, prevention, case development and recovery services to provide commercial health plans with a flexible approach to ensuring proper payments to care providers.
The vast majority of health care spending reflects the actual costs of patient care and medical services, however, the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association (NHCAA) estimates that $60 billion is lost annually to health care fraud, waste and abuse, according to the release.
