Praire Tap House at Eden Prairie Center Plans September Opening

The Prairie Tap House will have 40 beers on tap and 'chef-driven comfort food.'

Good food and lots of beer? Sounds like a winning combination for a new restaurant at Eden Prairie Center.

Praire Tap House will join Eden Praire Center's two other major restaurants in September, in the former T.G.I Friday's which closed in 2010. The tap house will occupy a 6,500-square-foot space near to Wildfire and Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano.

Owner Gene Suh plans to create a place similar to Minneapolis' Lyndale Tap House and Apple Valley’s Valley Tap House (click on the links for ratings). He is planning a September opening for the Prairie Tap House.

The Prairie Tap House will have at least 40 different beers on tap, pit barbeque and “chef-driven comfort food.”

The tap houses' specialty is "Baltimore Style Pit Meat" which is prepared by rubbing meat with a house-made spice mixture and marinating it for three days. The meat is seared on a grill, sliced paper-thin and served on kaiser rolls. Also on the menu are burgers, pretzels, ale-steamed mussels and an assortment of desserts.

The design concept of the tap house will be rustic and casual. The chef will be Phillip Dvorak, who has cooked for celebrities including Michelle Obama.
