Eden Prairie Firm a Winner in "In-Sourcing"

For decades, American workers have lived in many sectors have lived in fear, the specter of outsourcing hanging over their heads. Many companies infamously found it much more profitable to send certain tasks overseas and either lay off segments of their workforce or stop contracting with domestic suppliers of certain goods or services.

Now, in certain sectors, that trend is reversing and at least one Eden Prairie company is profiting from it, according to the Indian news website The Mint.

"From our perspective, our clients have accepted outsourcing. Now it's about finding the right places for the right resources on the right technology," Ken Behrendt, co-founder and chief executive of Eagle Creek Software Services, told The Mint . "It's about age-old issues such as quality, communication skills, distance, but generally and most importantly because of the time to market issues."

Companies like Eagle Creek fill specific niches in the global corporate ecosystem, though, rather than competing for many kinds of software work across the board, The Mint reports. The strategy seems to work, though—Eagle Creek posted a 28 percent bounce in its customer base last month, according to local news website The Line.
