Hammer Residences Wins Eden Prairie's Human Rights Award
The award recognizes those who have contributed to the city in the areas of human rights and diversity.
Eden Prairie’s Human Rights and Diversity Commission recognized Hammer Residences Inc. as its 2013 Human Rights Award recipient, the city announced Wednesday.
The annual award recognizes individuals, nonprofits and businesses who have contributed to the city in the areas of human rights and diversity.
Hammer Residences is a nonprofit that provides residential services to adults and children with developmental disabilities. It has three Eden Prairie locations serving 36 adults with disabilities.

“Hammer Residences is recognized for its dedication to upholding the rights of every individual to freedom, dignity and security regardless of physical or mental abilities,” a city news release stated. “Hammer’s mission is to provide individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to experience life to its fullest.”
Eden Prairie will present the award at 7 p.m. May 21 during the City Council meeting.
