Bring your pet, on leashes or in carriers, rain or shine.* Kids: If you don’t have a pet bring along your favorite stuffed animal or photo of your favorite animal. We’ll gather at the St. Francis Shrine and start with a short prayer service, followed by the pet blessing by Fr. Bill Murtaugh, a pet parade around the pond, and then you and your pet can head off to our “Flea Market,” where all sorts of pet related information, treats, and vendors will be on hand, including owner/pet photo opportunities, pet treats, and much more. We’ll complete the festivities with a weenie roast, chips, and beverage.
Come for the Blessings of the Animals, stay for the Fall Cleanup! We will once again be getting the grounds ready for the upcoming change of seasons. Bring some work gloves and a friend or family member and help us rake, prune, and prepare the gardens and landscaping for winter’s arrival. Come for an hour or come for the day, we welcome all your gifts of time and talent and will have some roasted hot dogs with all the fixings when the work detail is completed.
*In case of inclement weather, the Blessing of the Animals will be in the lower level in the Dietrich Bonheoffer room and Nazareth Hall.
